Hello, I’m Monica – I’m the Founder and Owner of Scorpio Candle Company, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m also a proud mom of two amazing adult children. In May 2022, I graduated with honors from Rosemont College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
My Story
My love for candles inspired me to start this journey. I wanted an alternative to big-box brands like Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle, so I decided to create my own. Determined to craft high-quality, natural candles, I immersed myself in the art and science of candle-making—learning everything from sourcing wholesale materials to perfecting the burn.
After extensive research, I chose soy wax for my candles because of its clean, slow, and even burn. Made from American-grown soybeans, it produces no soot when lit or extinguished, making it a healthier, eco-friendly option. Paired with cotton wicks, my candles provide a pure and lasting experience.
